St. Matai Mulhumba Ibanda Catholic Parish Diocese of Kasese yesterday celebrated her silver Jubilee with a call on parents and guardians to instill faith among the young generation for the sustainability of the church.
Ibanda Parish which was founded by Rev. Fr. Joseph Batuulekedeki, a member of the congregation of the Apostles of Jesus as the Parish priest on 14th Nov 1999 from Hima Catholic Parish named under the patronage of St. Matia Mulhumba is now in the stewardship of Rev. Fr. Peter Isingoma Katuramu, as Parish priest.
In his homily while presiding over the Eucharistic Celebration, the Ordinary of the Diocese of Kasese, Rt. Rev. Francis Aquirinus Kibira Kambale recognized and commended the efforts of the congregation of the Apostles of Jesus and Little Sisters of the representation of Mary in the temple for planting the seed of faith in Ibanda, saying the parish being on the patronage of one of the Uganda martyrs, calls for living with faith.
The Bishop reminded parents and guardians of their role of imparting catechism among their children at a tender age for the good of the church and society, describing a home as the first church. Bishop Kibira one speaking…
