Senior Superintended of Police Benet Odoch, the Rwenzori East Regional Police Commander has called on the members of public to be compassionate by showing love and care to those in need to win the mercies of God.
Addressing the staff, learners and other education stakeholders at Bridge for peace international school, a home for many children in need located near the Bishop Francis Kibira Kambale’s resident in Kasese Municipality this afternoon, SSP Odoch warned members of the public against acting in a manner that badly affect the life of children, some of whom regret parenting.
Speaking to the press shortly after the handover of the assorted items donated by the members of the police forces in Kasese, SP Nelson Tumushime, the regional police spokesperson said the move was a fulfilment of their social responsibility, as well as meeting the minimum standards of the lent season that requires the children of God to give to those in need. Mr. Edson Tumusime, a warden at the institution told our reporter that the donation which included cassava flour, soap, sugar and pumpers among other items, boosted the morale and changed the perception the children have on police, commending the officers for the move he described as timely to boost the welfare of the young people under their care. The gathering however went into some levels of silence after a young boy responded to the RPC’s question that the work police in to beat journalists. END
