    By Barbra Muhindo,

Bars turned night clubs are to be closed in Kasese Municipality should they continue emitting noise beyond permissible levels, Hon. Rabson Mupango, the Municipal Deputy Mayor has said.

Mr. Mupango who was responding to the closure notices issued by Kasese municipal town clerk, Mr. Geoffrey Bamanyisa to three bars, said they had received several complaints from public about the noise by the establishments, Silver Springs, Skyz lounge and bar, and Another Life Bar whose management had been adamant about the levels of music to play, time for opening and closure. Mr. Mupango speaking 1…….

Mr. Mupango asked the establishments either regulate by sound proofing their premises or change their business by applying for club operation licenses that have guidelines too aimed at minimizing noise pollution. Mr. Mupango speaking 2………

According to the closure notice by the town clerk, the affected premises are cautioned not to open or attract engagements for more punitive interventions such as revoking their operation licenses and criminal prosecution.

The town clerk later warned against illegal extension of structures and including into business items that one has not been licensed for. END
