Six-year-old Hanington, a pupil of Maze Nursery and Primary school in Gulu City is among hundreds of pilgrims that have embarked on a 157 Kilometer journey to Kalongo Town council in Agago District ahead of the beatification of Fr. Dr. Giuseppe Joseph Ambrosoli on Sunday.
At least 375 pilgrims were flagged off from St. Joseph’s Cathedral in Gulu City by Gulu Archdiocese Archbishop Dr. John Baptist Odama this morning for the long trek shortly after mass.
His mother, Sarah Opira told the press in an interview that she decided to move with him due to the numerous financial and health challenges they are facing at home.
She notes that her child has been battling a strange illness that hasn’t been diagnosed, adding that he was recently chased from school after failing to pay school fees.

The pilgrims are expected to reach Kalongo Town Council on Friday where the beatification ceremony will be conducted on November 20 and attended by thousands of Christians from the world over. END.
