Ms Christine Muhindo, a senior presidential advisor in charge of Rwenzori region, has called for joint popularization approaches aimed at sensitizing the local community members about the value for tourism.
In a separate interview during the national tourism day celebrations held at Nyakasanga playground in Kasese Municipality over the weekend, Ms Christine underscored the need for domestic tourism promotion whose basis lies in the hands of the locals she asked leaders to jointly sensitize.
She also asked the local community members to engage in tree planting, and guided waste disposal aimed at a clean and green Kasese to attract tourists and investors. Ms. Christine speaking……..
Mr. Modesto Kanekerya, the local council three chairperson for Ibanda-Kyanya town council, had earlier urged government to consider tarmacking the major routes to tourism destination in his town council to boost the sector. Mr. Kanekerya speaking………
He also asked community members to strategically position themselves to reap from the sector, including investment in handcrafts and hotels among others. END
