Police in Busoga East is investigating circumstances under which a security guard, Mr. Asuman Mutegula attached to Blue Light Security Company limited, was shot dead in the wee hours yesterday.
Mr. Mutegula had been deployed to guard a produce store in Kasokoso cell, in Central division, in Iganga municipality when unknown assailants shot him dead and fled off with his gun.
The Busoga East regional police spokesperson, Diana Nandawula says detectives have been dispatched to the scene of crime to interrogate possible eyewitnesses with an aim of establishing viable leads which will help to arrest of suspects.
Meanwhile, Police in Kiira region is investigating circumstances under which Prossy Nyanga, 33, a weightlifter attached to Black Monsters weightlifters club was stabbed to death last night outside her cosmetics shop in Budhumbuli cell in Jinja city and the body later dumped in a trench.
The Kiira regional police spokesperson, James Mubi says efforts of reviewing the CCTV camera footage obtained from the area are underway and a detailed report will be availed. END
