
The planned boundary opening on the disputed land of Kyabatukura and Ibuga in Bigando Parish, Kitswamba Sub-county, Kasese District was blocked today after surveyors failed to present clearance from the Inspector General of Police (IGP).
More than three thousand people, encamped at the office of the Kasese Resident District Commissioner were prepared to witness the boundary demarcation.
Transport arrangements had been fully made, but the cultivators were stopped by their leader, Ms. Grace Biira, after security personnel demanded official clearance from the IGP’s office.
Ms. Grace, who spoke to our reporter, revealed that she had already written to the IGP requesting the necessary clearance.
