Several schools in Kasese Municipality have recorded fewer learners as they reopened their gates for the second academic term.
Schools opened for the term today in line with the National Education Institutions calendar.

But school administrators on condition of anonymity say that majority of the learners have remained home today, although it’s not yet clear if the no-show is a result of school fees.

Mr. Denth Muhindo Mweru the deputy head teacher Trusted care junior school in Kamulikwizi ward Nyamwamba Division, Mr. Erias Wangehya, the director of studies at Riham Junior school and Mr. Neckson Baluku the deputy head teacher Greenwich Model school, requested Kasese municipal leadership to urgently establish temporary foot bridges along the River Nyamwamba channel to enable learners access schools.
