By Josephine Nyamicu,
A mini survey around Kasese Municipality schools showed a low turn up of learners for the third term studies.
The turn up today was majorly attributed to the hard economic times that the parents are going through, making them unable to raise either all or half of the school fees, mostly in private schools.
Mr. Emmy Mwesigye Kayiri, the Kasese Municipal Education Officer said some Government aided schools recorded low turnup compared to private schools that had registered by press time 50% learners and 100% teachers.
According to Kayiri, the third term academic calendar will run from 16th September to 06th December 2024, therefore appealing to parents and guardians to allow their children report for classes tomorrow.
