By Augustine Mumbere,
Few weeks to the start of exams by Uganda National Examinations Board, a section of schools along the Uganda- DR Congo border, have called for intensified security operations ahead of the exercise for the comfort and safety of the learners and staff.
Whereas there isn’t any major insecurity incident along the border line, the security vulnerability of DRC, as well as the 2023 ADF attack on Nyabugando secondary school in Mpondwe-Lhubiriha in Kasese district, leave many locals partly skeptical, according to Madam Annet Kabugho, the Deputy Head teacher for St. Maria Gorret secondary school-Bwera
Mr. Gideon Masereka, a teacher at Nyabugando Baptist Vocational secondary school located a few meters from the border, concurred with Madam Annet before commending the Uganda People’s Defence Forces for their ongoing operations that shouldn’t be relaxed along the border line. Mr. Gideon speaking and Ms. Annet speaking…….
Mr. Yokonia Bwambale, the school head teacher for Bwera Secondary school, had earlier expressed similar concerns but called for no worries now that his school was being guided intensively mainly at night. END
