The Rwenzururu Kingdom has with deep sorrow learnt about the death of one of her longest associates and veteran British Journalist, Mr. Tom Stacey aka Kambalha Ngeya of Clement House in London his home area in the United Kingdom.
According to his Personal Assistant, Sofia, the late Tom Stacey passed on December 24, 2022 “after battling pneumonia for a week with his daughter by his side.
On behalf of the Obusinga Bwa-Rwenzururu King, His Majesty the Omusinga Charles Wesley Mumbere Irema-Ngoma, the entire OBR Cabinet, the OBR fraternity and well-wishers King Mumbere send condolences to Mr Stacey’s family, friends, relatives and his media colleagues upon this loss, a press release signed by John Thawithe, the Kingdom spokesperson reads.
Mr. Stacey will be remembered for his various contributions to the Rwenzururu, including his guidance to the Bakonzo Life History Research, which was initiated and spearheaded by the Rwenzururu founding father and first king, Isaya Mukirania Kibanzanga, in 1950s and Stacey’s publications, which provide a glimpse into some aspects of the Bakonzo history.
