As the Christmas festive season sets in, the Rwenzururu King, His majesty Omusinga Charles Wesley Mumbere Irema-Ngoma, has extended his heartfelt greetings to all Ugandans, especially the communities in the Rwenzori region.
The Omusinga season’s greetings and best wishes are contained in his statement, issued yesterday from his Royal palace.
It is addressed to political, civil, religious, cultural, opinion leaders, citizens, subjects and guests, asking them to use the season to reflect and to appreciate the bonds that bind them together and to express gratitude for the blessings they have received.
He urged them to take a moment to cherish the beauty of our shared culture, the strength of our unity, and the resilience that has guided us through challenges.
Omusinga expresses gratitude that he was spending his first Christmas since he got his freedom along with scores of others who have been away for close to seven years following their arrest and consequential incarceration in November 2016.
He thanked His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta for dropping all charges against him.
He asked subjects to continue to build bridges of understanding, compassion, and cooperation, ensuring that the flame of progress burns brightly in every corner of his Kingdom with a positive mindset. END.
