The Rwenzururu King Royal visit to Katwe-Kabatooro in Kasese district stands as earlier on scheduled, Lt. Joe Walunsimbi, the Kasese Resident District Commissioner has announced.
He says no one has the powers to stop the visit other that his appointing authority he has received no directive from to the effect.
When asked about letter circulating on social media whose authorship is attributed to one Mr. Festo Kajura alleging that the Royal Visit was an encroachment to the cultural rights of the local community in Katwe-Kabatooro, Lt. Walunsimbi said the King like his counterparts in other areas has no territorial boundaries that bar him from visiting any place of his wish.
In an interview with Kasese Guide Radio at his office this evening, the RDC invited the Rwenzururu Kingdom subjects to turn up tomorrow in big numbers for the Royal visit he said winds up the visit schedules of His Majesty Charles Wesley Mumbere. Lt. Walunsimbi speaking…….
Addressing a press conference earlier this afternoon, the acting Rwenzururu Kingdom Premier, Hon. Selevest Masereka said the visit was on because he has no communication from government to the contrary, adding that cultural leaders were free to visit their subject wherever they are. Hon. The Kingdom Minister for Education and an organizer of the Royal visit to Katwe-Kabatooro town council tomorrow, said all was set and that the ready Kingdom subjects able to facilitate themselves with the King, were to set off from the office of the Prime Minister near Messiah Radio headquarters at 7.30am.
