Rwenzururu king, His Majesty Charles Wesley Mumbere has described the fallen Rt. Hon. Yoweri Nziabake Mulibondo as a lion that was always ready to defend its pride, the Kingdom, where need be.
Buried yesterday at his ancestral home in Kihoko village in Kistwamba subcounty in Kasese district, the late Rt. Hon. Yoweri Nziabake Mulibondo 90 was in 1968 asked by the first Rwenzururu King, Isaya Mukirania to lead a delegation through a foot trip to present to the Addis-Ababa based Organization of African Union headquarters, the concerns of the Banya-Rwenzururu.
The late Nziabake and his colleagues, Yoweri Mushenene and Blasio Baluku were however intercepted, detained in Rwanda and forced back home.
Delivering the King`s condolence Message, the Minister for Protocol and Palace Affairs in the Obusinga Bwarwenzururu, Hon. Yonah Maate Tumusime, the King described the deceased as a courageous fighter who did not shake but stood to the kingdom cause of independence even when treason charges were slapped on them after their arrest in Rwanda.
