Mr. Geoffrey Baluku, the President of Rwenzori Fraternity Association (RWEFRA), has urged community members to go for regular health checkups to help detect non-communicable diseases, which have become increasingly common in the region.
Speaking to our reporter yesterday at Kilembe Quarters Playground in Kasese Municipality during the 2025 Rwenzori Fraternity Association (RWEFRA) Sports Gala an event that brings together elites of the Rwenzori sub-region Mr. Baluku commonly known as Paluku noted that many individuals are unknowingly living with non-communicable diseases, cancer, and sexually transmitted infections, which are silently weakening their immunity.
He emphasized that such diseases can be reduced through regular physical exercise, limiting the intake of fatty foods, routine testing, and the proper prescription and use of medication, among other measures.
As part of the event, RWEFRA organized a free health camp that offered screening for non-communicable diseases and various other illnesses.
