    Rutshuru Gunshot victims named

    Six civilians who were shot and injured during heavy fighting between the March 23 Movement (M23) rebels and the Congolese government army in Rutshuru territory, North Kivu province have been named.      

    The victims currently admitted at Kisoro hospital in Kisoro district were carried to the Ugandan side of Bunagana by locals last evening and handed over to Uganda Red Cross Society officials.

    Hajji Shafique Ssekandi, Kisoro Resident Commissioner has identified the victims as; Rukembuga Nsengayunva, 43, and his wife Fraswazi Furaha,35.

    Others are their children, Jisiine Irakiza,10, Viviane Hategekimana,9, Byiringiro Ntagisanimana, 18, and another five-year-old child only identified as Adolfe.

    Ssekandi says that crossing puts them at risk of death since fighting is very serious and includes heavy and light gunfire exchange. Shafique on war..

    Ssekandi says that statements from the victims say that the bomb hit the house where they were hiding. END.
