SP. Nelson Tumusiime, the Rwenzori East Region Police Spokesperson, has revealed a decrease in road crashes last week, compared to previous weeks in which more fatalities were recorded.
Addressing the press today at the Division Headquarters in Kasese Town, Tumusiime attributed the decline to mass sensitization efforts and strict enforcement of traffic regulations, which have helped curb road carnage.

SP Tumusiime reaffirmed the Police’s commitment to reducing road crash fatalities and serious injuries, especially as Kasese prepares to host the Tusker Lite Mt. Rwenzori Marathon later this month.
He called for the implementation of a 30 km/h speed limit in high-density urban areas, along with the expansion of non-motorized transport infrastructure, to enhance the safety of pedestrians and cyclists. END
