    Ripple foundation donates 8,000 seedling trees to Nyakiyumbu Sub County

    Nyakiyumbu Sub County yesterday received eighty thousand tree seedling donated by Ripple foundation in a bid to mitigate the effects of climate change.

    Speaking to Kasese guide radio shortly after delivering seedlings at Katholhu primary school in Nyakiyumbu sub-county, Ripple foundation director, Ms. Florence Basaliza says a lot has changed in the environment especially in Kasese and something urgent has to be done to solve the existing challenge through re-afforestation.

    The LC3 chairperson, Mr. Peter Sunday Kakule said the project has come at the right time when government is implementing the construction of an electrical wire along the national park where local were reportedly getting firewood.

    He urged his electorates to plant fruit trees along the roads, land boundaries and public places including schools and churches for food security and sustainable income. Mr. Kakule speaking ….

    A total of over 350,000 trees will be supplied to residents in Bukonzo County west. END.
