The Director Caritas-Kasese, Rev. Fr. Anyasio Mbusa has encouraged the lay faithful to jointly fight against poverty through forming saving and credit groups as well as practicing good agronomic practices.
In an engagement meeting with the elected laity leaders from the five sub- parish in Kitswamba Parish Diocese of Kasese held at the Parish headquarters, Fr. Anyasio described Rwenzori as a blessed region by God endowed with Natural resources, wondering why people in Kasese are lamenting about poverty, a challenge he attributes to laziness and poor planning.
He calls for collaborated effort towards the fight against poverty through Agriculture, forming Sacco’s and impressing education.

He said the partnership with Centenary Bank, Caritas Kasese will register all saving groups from the local churches and will form a Sacco at every Parish in the diocese as one way of enhancing finance among the lay faithful.
