The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, The Most Rev. Dr. Samuel Kazimba Mugalu has directed all dioceses in the province to close all Church offices and let staff work from their respective homes with effect from March 30, 2020.
The Archbishop was addressing the press at the Provincial Secretariat hours after the Ministry of Health declared new confirmed cases of the Covid-19 pandemic that have shot to fourteen.
The Archbishop said that the province has already laid out a strategy by identifying those who can work from home and those who need to take a break, until the situation normalizes.

He called on the leaders and other informed people to guide the community about the need to be obedient by following the medical technical guidelines before giving himself as an example after he ordered for only ten visitors at the weeding of his son that is scheduled for April 18th. The archbishop was rather very disappointed that some pastors had refused to heed to the guidance of the state and that of the church in regard to banning congregations, describing them as agents of the evil.
