Residents of Kidodo Cell in Kasese Municipality have raised concerns about the non-functional garbage recycling plant.
The recycling plant funded by the World Bank project was supposed to recycle garbage from the municipality into organic manure.
The residents say that the facility has been non-operational for the past five years. It does not have electricity supply and no running water, leading to a bad smell from the garbage plant.
They are demanding authorities find a solution to stop the stench, which could lead to an outbreak of diseases in the area.
Ms.Harriet Kisembo a resident says that at times it is difficult for them to eat food due to the bad smell from the garbage plant.
