The local leaders and residents of Karambi subcounty in Kasese district have threatened to stage a peaceful demonstration over the poor state of Kanyamunyu Bridge they have describes as a grave yard.
In a cellphone interview with this Radio station this morning, Mr. Paddy Muhindo, the local council three chairperson for Karambi subcounty like his electorates, nobody has the answer to why the bridge was done half way, leaving most of it unattended to and nearly falling in even after several warnings to the district leadership. The Kasese district woman councilor representing Karambi subcounty and a member of the district works committee, Hon. Jacqueline Biira Sahambili, describes the state of the bridge as disturbing, wondering why it has not been worked on after about 60 million shillings had been allocated for it. Hon. The Kasese District secretary for works and technical services, Hon. Karimu Baluku Kisembo, sounded shocked about the situation he said Hon. Jacqueline has reported to the committee about, pledging to go on ground with the district engineer for a solution soon.
