The recent destructive heavy rains characterized by hailstones have left Mahango sub-county community fearful of likely hunger, Mr. Julius Kyasuba, the area local council three chairperson has said.
Speaking to Kasese Guide Radio yesterday, Mr. Kyasuba said hailstones that hit the subcounty and mainly Kinyamate village had destroyed crops that include, Cassava, beans and Banana plantations which have been a financial and food base for the locals in the area.
He was worried that the incident was likely also to affect learners whose parents may not fully provide for the education of their children since they solely depend farming. Mr. Kyasuba speaking……..
Mr. Kyasuba had however asked parents to be selective in expenditure so as to save for the education of their children as schools open for third term today. END
