Meanwhile, Religious leaders in the Democratic Republic of Congo-DRC have started door-to-door evangelism to discourage youth from joining rebel activity.
The religious leaders are also seeking to build international awareness and urge civic and political leaders to call for an end to the current fighting.

Pastor Key Abraham Kitsa Isaya, from the Pentecostal Church of -Libiriha in the DRC said that the range of peace building activities that faith-based actors are engaging in is extensive, and includes mediation, humanitarian aid, promoting reconciliation as well as promoting dialogue.
Imam Awlimali Ramadhani Fundi of Lubiriha-Kasindi mosque says he has been urging fellow religious leaders in the area to have the courage to engage leaders in the DRC conflict for the sake of young people, adding that Covid-19 had fueled the rebellion now that the local community members were forced into their homes over the virus, a situation that gave chance to the rebel mobilizers to operate vastly. Kavuzungwire Wilson an Archdeacon from the North Kivu diocese says that they are working with other faith-based organizations in advocating for the protection of civilians, reuniting families, and lobbying for peace.
