The five-year-old baby boy who was rushed to St. Paul’s Hospital in Kasese Municipality after reports of negligence by his parents, is slowly but steadily getting out of danger, Kasese Guide Radio can reliably report.
Speaking to our reporter shortly after visiting the Minor at the health facility, Ms Ruth Labongo, the Community Development Officer for Maliba subcounty in Kasese district, confirmed that medical reports had indicated that Gilbert Mumbere, a resident of Kiruli I A village in Maliba subcounty whose mother had reportedly abandoned him before the interventions by the Good Samaritans, was steadily responding to treatment.

The interventions to rescue Gilbert followed concerns by Ms Janet Masika, a coffee farmers’ registrar, who called in Ms Labongo, the area CDO and later Kasese Guide Radio that mobilized the community to the advantage of the lad.
