The National Resistance Movement-NRM has for the last 20 years failed to win the Kasese Woman Parliamentary seat, despite fronting competent candidates.
The once main opposition in parliament, FDC, still won the seat after Hon. Winfred Kiiza Nyabahasa, the former Kasese Woman Member of Parliament who had trounced Hon. Loice Bwambale Biira, exited active politics.
Shortly after her nomination on Wednesday last week, Ms Sarah Ithungu Masereka Baleke, the NRM flag bearer for the Kasese district woman Member of Parliament, was duly nominated with messages of unity, persuasive, guiding and consultative political campaigns dominating her speech.
Over the weekend, the Kasese district NRM party chairperson, Hon. James Bwambale Mbahimba told a press conference that his party political mobilization was being frustrated by independent candidates who have declined to follow party guidelines, as well as those he called rumor vendors diluting messages of reconciliation, peace unity and part cohesion. Hon. Mbahimba speaking………
A Kasese based political analyst who preferred anonymity attributes individualism, reported regionalism, disunity and pride as reasons letting NRM down in her political mobilization in Kasese district. The Kasese Woman Parliamentary seat has six candidates, including; FDC’s Florence Kabugho, NUP’s Ms Fatuma Kathembo Kamama and independent candidate, Ms Marylyn Kabugho Kighotha. ENDS
