Nobody will intimidate against the planned opening of the disputed land boundaries in Enkoko village in Kitswamba subcounty, Lt. Joe Walunsimbi the Kasese Resident District Commissioner has said.
His comments follow this week’s standoff where the Kasese RDC accompanied by the land technical team was reportedly blocked from accessing the disputed land in Nkoko village where he had hone to open boundaries to cool the dust between the cattle keepers and cultivators in the area.
Speaking to Kasese Guide Radio at his office yesterday, Lt. Walunsimbi who scheduled Thursday next week as another day for the exercise, asked the local population to co- exist, be peaceful and be reconciliatory while dealing with issues of public concern.
He said he was consulting about another approach that will enable the exercise take place for peace to prevail between the two conflicting parties in the area. Lt. Walusimbi speaking……….
Earlier during the failed attempt to open the land boundaries, Mr. Richard Nankunda, the local council one chairperson for Kayanja one village and a cattle keeper in the area doubted if the Kasese RDC had the powers to decide over the same land. Mr. Richard speaking………
Mr. Ibrahim Rujumba, a cultivator on the land wondered why the cattle keepers were giving divergent excuses to buy time and not in for the boundary exercise which to him was the only permanent solution.

Earlier yesterday, the Central Division FDC chairperson in Kasese Municipality, Mr. Jafal Kigutiha called for plans to put to order some local leaders in Nkoko village for failing lawful orders from the Kasese RDC. END
