    RDC directs Kasese Municipal town clerk to guide his juniors

    The Kasese Resident District Commissioner, Lt. Joe Walunsimbi has called for clear guiding tools by the Kasese municipal town clerk, Mr. Theo Tibihika to assist his juniors to monitor government projects.

    In his closing remarks at the end of the Kasese Municipal budget conference held at Kasese multipurpose hall yesterday, Lt. Walunsimbi was concerned that the technical staff were not resourceful enough to explain certain decisions by government, a situation that causes a rift between the local citizens and state.

Walunsimbi who expressed his dissatisfaction against the presentation of Principal Municipal engineer, Mr. Apollo Batwine, attributes several incident of demonstrations by the locals in Uganda to some technical and political positions that cannot ably interpret government decisions to guide the local community.     Rt. Hon. Joseph Kule Muranga, the premier for the Rwenzururu Kingdom said they had partnered with minister of gender, labor and social development to print 3000 summery booklets of the Kingdom constitution that will ably guide the Rwenzururu subjects on what it stands for, her role and what is expected of the locals and government.     In a separate interview with this radio after the conference, the Kasese Municipal Mayor, His Worship Chance Kahindo said the gathering was basically present their proposals and receive views of other stakeholders, including the civil society and faith based institutions ahead of the new budgeting process.

    He also said extending safe and clean water to areas of Kihara Ward among others, renovating schools and taming Nyamwamba river are some of the priorities next financial year. Mr. Chance speaking…..

    Mr. Yosiya Thembo, the Kasese municipal council head of finance, said they are projecting 31.5 billion shillings for the F/Y 2023/2024. END.
