There was a reason for a smile by the local residents mainly fish mongers at Hamukungu landing site in Lake Katwe subcounty in Kasese district after their fish slab was commissioned and officially hand over for use.
Ms Brenda Asiimwe, Adriano Bwambale and Judith Nakalema, all fish dealers in Hamukungu fishing village described the development as their dream come true in boosting their business.
Officiating at the commissioning function yesterday, Lt. Joe Walunsimbi, the Kasese Resident District Commissioner called for proper use of the slab he said should always be clean to enable fishermen easily display their fish. Lt. Walunsimbi speaking ………
Mr. Samuel Muhindo the head contractor said about twenty eight million shillings had been spent on renovating the slab and her shelves, constructing a shed and connecting the site with water mainly for cleaning the fish. Mr. Samuel speaking ………
Mr. Emmanuel Kyalimpa the local council two chair like Mr. Robert Adaruku who represented the subcounty leadership, appreciated government for the interventions they said will ease fishing and her marketing at the landing site. END.
