Teenage Pregnancy in Maliba sub-county Kasese district is worrying and has become one of the biggest evils tormenting the lives of young girls.
Mr. Robert Kiryamuthaka, the Chairperson Local Council three for Maliba sub-county, described as shameful registering monthly over twenty cases of teenage pregnancy, defilement, Gender Based Violence and rape in the modern era.
Speaking at a girl’s festival organized by Reach a hand in Partnership with Save the Children held yesterday at Ngaiga Playground in Maliba sub-county, Kiryamuthaka however partly attributed the raise of teenage pregnancies to failure by their parents to provide basic necessities.
