The Managing director of Uganda Railways Co-operation Eng. Charles Kateeba, has promised a revamp of railway transport in Kasese district to reduce congestion on roads.
Speaking to Kasese guide radio this afternoon shortly after a half day stakeholders meeting held at Boma grounds in Kasese town, Eng. Charles said plans of demarcating the boundary opening will start soon in the district.
He said his office is still in consultation with the Municipal physical planner and local leadership about the progress of re-allocating people that encroached on the railway line by human activities.

Eng. Charles who said that economies thrive on transportation of both raw and finished goods, reported that the railway line will be extended to Kasese industrial area.
The Chairperson LC 3 Central division in Kasese Municipality, Mr. Safari Martin asked the affected families to remain calm saying the local leadership is still in consultation with Uganda railway cooperation.
