Dr. Joyfred Kayiri Kathembo, the in charge of Rukoki Health Centre four has urged the public to embrace early screening of Leukemia commonly known as blood cancer.
Leukemia is cancer of the body’s blood-forming tissues, including the bone marrow and the lymphatic system.
Speaking to Kasese Guide Radio Yesterday Dr. Kayiri said leukemia symptoms vary, depending on the type of leukemia, but the common signs and symptoms include, fever, losing weight, swollen lymph nodes, enlarged liver or spleen and easy bleeding among others.

In general, leukemia is thought to occur when some blood cells acquire changes in their genetic material or DNA, radiations in factories like CT scan, consumption of Alcohol and tobacco. Dr. Kayiri two speaking….
