Mr. Erifaz Muhindi, the Kasese District local council five chairman has reportedly fired the chairman and two members of the district Public Service Commission, Kasese Guide Radio can reliably report.
Independent but yet to be confirmed sources told this radio that Mr. Lawrence Turuganya, the Commission chairman and secretary to the Commission, Mr. Joshua Miramagho are reportedly among those asked to step aside to pave way for the ongoing investigations into the corruption allegations.
In a letter addressed to the Kasese District Chief administrative Officer, Mr. Muhindi is quoted to have referred to the Police File REF No.004/2024 at Rwenzori East Region that mandates the investigative arm of the police to investigate the allegations.
Kasese Guide Radio is however yet to know if the powers to suspend a member of a service commission, was within the mandate of the chairman or the district council at the recommendation of the district executive.
Independent sources have also intimidated that Mr. Muhindi was likely to announce reshuffles in his executive during council sitting that is likely to be hot today. Details will come later. END
