Mr. Safari Martin, the chairperson LC 3 Central Division in Kasese Municipality has advised the public to ignore calls for protests over skyrocketing food and fuel prices in the country.
He calls it waste of time to hold protests even after Government has pronounced herself over skyrocketing prices.
Speaking to Kasese Guide Radio this afternoon, Safari said though it’s constitutionally okay to hold peaceful demonstration, there is need to think about the negative effects of the demonstration.
Mr. Safari on Demonstration 1……
He calls for negotiation with Government over the skyrocketing prices of commodities than walking on streets which he said could not solve the problem. Mr.Safari on Strike 2….
In his address to the country on Wednesday, President Museveni offered no short term solutions to the problem of skyrocketing prices caused by the high fuel prices.
Whereas a number of countries have provided subsidies, Museveni insisted that walking this line would be suicidal since it would make people feel comfortable when they are not. END.
