The Kasese Divisional Police has launched investigations into Mr. Robert Syamutsangira, a resident of Kidodo Cell in Kasese Municipality, who was arrested for allegedly being in possession of a stolen duck and two turkeys.
Rwenzori East Region Police Spokesperson, SP Nelson Tumusiime, told our reporter this afternoon, police opened a theft case after the suspect failed to provide a satisfactory explanation while recording his statement regarding the allegations.

SP.Tumusiime, cautioned members of the local community particularly those involved in voluntary work to remain transparent and law-abiding, warning that anyone found in breach will face the law.

Meanwhile, Mr. Sharif Geoffrey Masereka, the LC I Chairperson for Kidodo Cell, condemned, Mr. Syamutsangira,s actions and declared that he would not be welcomed back into the community after serving any sentence.

When asked, Mr. Syamutsangira, the suspect, denied the allegation, adding that the three days he kept the birds, were to give him the appropriate time to identify the owners, one of whom was his immediate neighbor. END
