Mr. Samson Bihanikire, the Kasese District principal human resource officer, has warned the private sector against violating the rights of their employees, some of whom rely on peanuts as monthly salaries.
Mr. Bihanikire was responding to concerns by Mr. Wilfred Bwambale, the head teacher for Rwenzori Millennium primary school who like other teachers in their meeting, asked the district to implement laws aimed at protecting the rights of teachers in private schools.

In an interview with Kasese Guide Radio later after a meeting at Kasanga primary school in Bwera subcounty in Kasese District this week, Mr. Bihanikire said the Kasese District Chief Administrative Officer was working closely with the labor officer against any form of exploitation to employees in the private sector.
He said private school leaderships would soon be compelled to hand over lists of their staff and show proof of payments by directors as means to help private employees from exploitation.

Mr. Bihanikire was also concerned that private school owners were using the biting levels of unemployment to exploit their employees, some of whom live on handouts. END
