Mr. Seth Ahebwa, the Kasese Municipal Principal Education Officer, has faulted private schools for concentrating on academics and doing less in promoting co-curricular activities among learners.
Addressing education stakeholders during the commissioning of the PLE Mock Exams for Kasese Municipal Council at Kasese primary school yesterday, Mr. Ahebwa described it as partial teaching for private schools to sideline co-curricular activities, most of which have been a source of livelihoods for some Ugandans in future.
Mr. Seth who said the inspectorate in the Municipal council was been more keen on particular private schools over the concerns, said failure to fulfill the demands of the ministry of education and sports, may force the revocation of a school’s operational license. Mr. Seth speaking……
In his remarks, the Kasese Assistant RDC, Mr. Tien Tsongo revealed that they were investigating reports that some founding bodies of some schools had recruited bursars who collect money that head teachers have to struggle to access. Mr. Tien speaking…….
