Unlicensed private schools in Kasese municipality have up to December this year to have operational license or else be closed for all next year, the Kasese Municipality Education officer Mr. Emmy Kayiri has disclosed.
During a head teachers’ meeting for the closure of 2nd term at Kasese primary school in Kasese municipality last evening, Mr. Kayiri said warned that unlicensed schools must sort themselves before this year’s ending without which they will not be allowed to operate.

Mr. Kayiri who encouraged Head teachers to have Kiswahili language taught from primary four to seven also encouraged parents to embrace the ongoing exercise of registration of all leaners in country affirming that the little money they pay for passport photos and other administrative costs are meant to aid the exercise.

The Kasese municipality inspector of schools Ms Tobia Kyomuhendo who revealed that the municipality team will be setting off for this year’s Masaska national competitions on 15th August ,expressed her dissatisfaction with private schools for always concentrating on academics only and denying their learners chance to participate in co-curricular activities.
