Mrs. Betty Adongo, the Assistant Coordinator for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Association of Uganda has called for collaborated efforts aimed at preventing unborn child from diseases.
According to Ms. Adongo, many babies born with water on the brain as commonly known, are typical examples of extra fluids in and around the brain that can cause brain spaces called ventricles, to become too large and for the head to swell.
Speaking to Kasese Guide Radio shortly after an awareness dialogue on Spina Bifida & hydrocephalus disease to VHTs and Health workers of Karusandara Health center three in Karusandara subcounty in Kasese district yesterday, Ms Adongo said lack of folic acids before conception and during the first trimester of pregnancy fuels spina bifida among newly born.
She therefore asked the trainees to popularize the consumption of vegetables, fruits and yellows among expectant mothers for health babies. Mrs. Adongo speaking…..
