President Museveni has re-assured the Rwenzururu King his Majesty Charles Wesley Mumbere Iremangoma that Kasese Airfield will soon be constructed for an international Airport.
President Museveni who was meeting the Rwenzururu King for the first time since the latter’s detention after the 2016 Military attack on the Buhikira palace, is quoted to have said that Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the absolute ruler of Dubai and the Prime minister of the United Arab Emirates was to fund the construction works.
In an interview with Kasese Guide Radio yesterday, Hon. Godfrey Kabyanga who attended the Wednesday meeting at State House Entebbe, said the President also pledged to give three tractors to the Kingdom in the first phase to increase production and household incomes of the Banya-Rwenzururu.
According to Hon. Kabyanga, the President also reassured the King that plans were on for the construction of the Railway line from Malaba-Busia, to Kasese. Hon. Kabyanga speaking1……..
He said under the same requests by the Omusinga, President Museveni pledged to consult with the Ministry of health for a possibility of a referral hospital in Kasese, source for funds to procure Springs hotel owned by the late Gen. During the meeting, President Museveni is said to have been happy to learn that the Kingdom had begun a new chapter which is aligned with the vision of the National Resistance Movement to transform Uganda. END.
