President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has said that stopping truck drivers from coming to the country is not only unnecessary but also suicidal since their services are a necessity and can be delivered by a single of manageable staff.
In his twelfth State of the nation`s address on the deadly COVID-19 at State House Nakasero last evening, Mr. Museveni said if the trucks were to be stopped, it would be catastrophic to the country because there will not be any way to transport agricultural produce and import of raw materials needed for production, as well as bulky medical supplies.
President Museveni who described the fight against Corona virus as a planned and not an emotional war said that for a long-term solution he’s going to revamp the railway system and also the water transport as the main means of cargo transport.
