The 50,000 Special Police Constables that were recruited to police ahead of next year’s elections will be trained for only two weeks.

The Inspector-General of Police, Martin Ochola, announced the recruitment of 50,000 SPCs who will be deployed outside and inside polling stations purposely to guide electorates.
Their other roles will be protecting polling officials but also ensuring the polling materials arriving at centers are not tampered with.
The training for SPCs who are expected to be deployed five days before January 14, 2021, presidential and parliamentary elections day, will start today across the country. Ends.
