Police in the Albertine region has recovered a gun that was stolen from a private security guard in Hoima city.
The rifle was recovered yesterday with two rounds of ammunition hidden in a culvert in Bulindi village, Kyambigambire sub-county in Hoima district.
The gun was reportedly robbed from Eunice Kobusingye 28, a private security guard attached to Uganda Securiko company limited who was guarding Kaaka Spare World Shop in Hoima City on 28. November 2022.
ASP Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police Spokesperson who said they were alerted by some members of the community who saw the gun in a culvert along the Hoima-Masindi road, cautions the local residents in possession of illegal guns in the region to voluntarily surrender them before tougher action is taken. This is the second gun to be recovered in the Albertine in a period of six days after the Police flying squad recovered the first one on Friday last week. END
