Rwenzori East Region Police has directed the Division Police Commander of Bwera to re-arrest a 45-year-old stepmother accused of torturing a ten-year-old boy in Kacungiro Village, Munkunyu Sub-county in Kasese District, over allegations of stealing food.

According to SP Nelson Tumusime, the Rwenzori East Regional Police Spokesperson, police are investigating the circumstances under which the suspect, Ms. Jane Nyabahasa, was released on police bond in a child torture case and has since failed to report back to the authorities.
