Rwenzori East regional Police in Kasese have started investigations into circumstances that led to the Bus accident in Kabirizi in Kasese district that left one person dead.
The Regional Police spokesperson, ASP Ismail Kawoo confirmed that the Isuzu Bus Registration Number UAQ 226W had veered of the road, reportedly killing one Ms Kabiira Muhairwe, a Congolese national hailing from Kyavinyonge.
He said the bus that was trying to avoid knocking a suspected elephant also injured, Baluku Lwanzu and Halima Najja, both Congolese nationals, as well as one Mr. John Bwambale, a business man from Bwera currently nursing wounds at Bwera Hospital. ASP Kawoo1…….
Mr. Kawoo who called for regulated speed by the drivers through the national park said the suspected killer bus belonging to Pokopoko Bus Company was parked at Bwera Division police headquarters pending inspection by the Inspector of Vehicles as investigations into the incident go on.
