Police have started investigations into the attempted suicide over family conflicts, by a man in his early twenties in Kisaka cell, Mpondwe-Lhubiriha town council in Kasese district, Police spokesperson for Rwenzori East Region, SP Nelson Tumusiime has confirmed.
SP Tumushime said the self-stabbing by Mr. Beckam, followed the reported denial of burial rights to the late Masereka, his brother, both sons to one Mr. Jimmy Sunday who had been ex-communicated by his family close to two decades ago.
Ms Mary Kabugho, a neighbor, said they were shocked to see Mr. Beckam stabbing himself in the chest with a knife as an expression of anger for his family’s refusal to honor his brother the required burial rights. Ms Mary speaking……
A family head from the formerly popular Serebethe family said the body was denied because the deceased’s father had been excommunicated from the family over what he called inhuman acts.
