Police in Koboko District are hunting for an unidentified woman who allegedly stole a newborn baby from Koboko Hospital.
The incident happened when Baifa Afekuru, the mother of the missing baby boy who hails from Maracha district had just returned to the maternity ward from the Theater after a caesarian section.
It is alleged that the woman, pretending to be one of the attendants in the Ward, volunteered to help the mother of the twins when her attendants identified as Beatrice Candiru and Hella Drateru, a Midwife had gone out of the Ward to dispose off the placenta.
However, upon returning to the Ward, they only found the baby girl on the bed with the mother, but the baby boy was missing.
Josephine Angucia, the West Nile Region Spokesperson says that the incident occurred at about 8:30 pm on Friday, at the facility located in Central Cell, Apa ward, South Division.
