Police have started investigations into circumstances under which passengers reportedly survived death after the taxi they were traveling in veered off the Kasese-Kikorongo highway into Queen Elizabeth National park near KCCL factory in Kasese municipality.
Police spokesperson for Rwenzori East Region, SP Nelson Tumusiime confirmed that police was investigating the incident involving a taxi, registration number, UAX 540 N that communed from Kasese Municipality to Mbarara City.
Mr. Sanasio Kule, the local council one chairperson for Kahokya-KCCL Cell in Kasese Municipality, called for divine interventions and installment of speed humps against repeated accidents along the stretch, before blaming the incident to a yet to be identified car that made a U-turn thereby, disrupting the taxi driver who did what he could to save the lives of his fourteen passengers.
