Police has confirmed that a hand grenade exploded and killed a seven-year-old boy in Masindi district on Sunday.
Kelvin Atugonza, a son to Julius Kugonza, a resident of Nyangahya division, Masindi Municipality was allegedly killed after an object he picked from the garden exploded cutting off his hands and parts of his body.
SSP Deo Obura, the Albertine region police Commander who called for more consciousness about security store told this radio yesterday that police and Uganda Peoples Defense forces bomb squad operatives were dispatched to find out much about the kind of bomb until it was discovered that the boy was killed by a hand grenade that had been buried under the ground for years.
