Kenya police have sealed off all roads leading to the President’s official Residence, the State House, in the capital, Nairobi, ahead of planned protests.
Opposition leaders have said they are planning to lead their supporters to the state house to protest against what they call an illegitimate government and the high cost of living.
Police have also been rounding up people in the city centre in a move that appears to prevent the demonstrators from gathering.
In South African, Police say 87 people have been arrested across the country in connection with opposition protests led by the minority party, the Economic Freedom Fighters over what they so-called national shutdown. END
